Drying Wood Floors – Wood floors can swell due to excessive moisture or water spills. If you experience a water spill, quickly wipe up as much as possible on the surface and air dry. If you experience a flood or water loss that has covered a wood floor, call us immediately! Excessive moisture can settle in between the paneling and cause the edges of the wood to swell. This is known as “Cupping”. With our certified technicians, we can install an “Inject dry system” and quickly dry the wood to get it back to its original state.
First Choice Cleaning offers cleaning services for scrubbing, stripping and re-coating vinyl floors. Sheet Vinyl and VCT (Vinyl Composition Tile) comes in either 12×12 inch squares or rolls. The process for maintenance is similar; however, some sheet vinyl does not require maintaining with floor finish. Sheet Vinyl is most often used in areas where seams are not desirable such as medical offices. Cleaning vinyl floors needs to be done as often as 1 year depending on traffic. The finish will protect the floor and give it a beautiful finish appearance.

Restoring and maintaining sealed rubber floors: First Choice provides a stripping and re-coating process using Johnson Diversey Carefree. We recommend using the matte finish as this looks the most natural on the floor.

A good sweeping or vacuuming to remove dry soil is essential to extending the life of your floor. Regular damp mopping with a PH neutral detergent designed for rubber, such as Johnson Diversey Profi floor cleaner, is highly recommended.

Urethane coatings are high performance floor coatings that deliver a durable, long lasting shine that can withstand high traffic, unlike acrylic-based floor finishes. Maintaining your Cork Flooring
We recommend you vacuum or dust mop often and use mats in heavy traffic areas. Damp mop the floors according to usage requirements leaving the floor with minimum moisture on it. A rule of thumb for cork flooring is that most things that will stain a wood floor will also stain the cork. It’s important to wipe up spills immediately, and to not give water the opportunity to penetrate into the cork cells. Always avoid the use of harsh cleaners and abrasive products for cleaning the floor.
It is especially important to keep clean and sanitized surrounding spaces.
